VE Day (Socks CCLXXXII)

After the weather turned warm, Phil reported that peace had returned to Europe. Katherina started crying at the report. She danced around the living room, hugging her parents. The family began speculating on Donald's return, and talked of little else for the next few days.
Beyond the joy of having "our boys" come home each person would be glad to be able to get certain items. Wilhiem wanted gas and tires, Elsebeth couldn't wait for flour and sugar. Katherina needed nylons. When she finally got a pair she said, "Moma, I'll not wear these until my Donald takes me dancing."
