Shiny (Socks CCCLXXXV)

"Ah, the sister headache is back."
*
"You could take a nap, and I'll be home just about the time the roast is done."
*
"Ok, I'll finish cleaning up around here."
Fillmore finished his call and went about straightening up boxes. The broom still leaned against the bench. There was a small pile of dust next to it. In the dust something sparkled.
"Rar, what's that?"
"I can't see, you're on top of me. Describe it."
"It's round."
"Like Nick?"
"No. It has a hole in it."
"Like Spaulding? Is air coming out?"
"No. There is a bump on one side."

Home Early (Socks CCCLXXXIV)

"How is your mother?"
*
"Where did you go for lunch?"
*
"She always wants to go there."
*
"Did you get to see your Dad?"
*
"That's too bad."
*
"Oh, that's why you left early."
*
"I wish you wouldn't let your sister bother you this way."
*
"I agree, but I just wish it didn't bother you."
*
"That's a good idea. Let's talk about it later."
*
"Oh, you can smell the roast?"
*
"Yea, I put it in this morning, and set the timer."
*
"It will be ready in forty-five minutes."
*
"I was just getting ready to go."
*
"We can go out, if you want."

New Cord (Socks CCCLXXXIII)

Sunbeam saw Fillmore carrying the cord.
"I hope that's for me."
It was. Fillmore plugged the cord into Sunbeam's base and looped it in the handle several times. Now Lar and Rar were tied to the handle. Filmore held the peculator up to have a look. Then he put the objects back, and chuckled.
Fillmore moved some boxes and bags, generally making bigger stacks. Next he grabbed a broom. After a few minutes of sweeping, there was a ringing sound. He took his cell phone out of his pocket.
"Hello."
*
"Are you home already?"
*
"I didn't expect you so soon."

Paid in Full (Socks CCCLXXXII)

The three women talked for a short time until a man brought two pair of pants to the counter.
Mommy left and Pink Shirt went to the back. She put Lar and Rar through Sunbeam's handle, put a card in the clock and went out the door.
Soon Fillmore came through and noticed the twins. He saw something sticking out of Lar, "What's this?"
"Wow, she paid for this already."
He opened Sunbeam's lid and read a piece of paper, "He paid for this too." Then he took a shoebox from a shelf, opened it, and took out a cord.

Barry hung his head, "I'm thorry."
"Why don't you head on home, you have homework."
"Ok, Mommy."
Barry left, waiting to get all the way outside before dribbling.
"I hope Barry doesn't bother you here."
"No, he's no trouble."
"Well, don't let him get in the way."
"Oh, don't worry. If I have customers, I tell him to go home."

A woman was walking on the sidewalk, toward the door. She stopped, folded her arms, and watched Barry dribble.
"I'm dribbling out-thide."
Pink shirt and the other lady just stood there, "Watch this, this will be good."
