LeBron Jameth (Socks CCCLXXVIII)

The boy started dribbling Bouncy right away. He bounded off the boy's toe and down the aisle, "I'm thorry. I'll wait till I get out-thide."
"That's ok, but that's a good idea to wait."
Both people walked to where Bouncy lay, waiting. The boy picked him up, and everybody walked to the woman behind the table.
"Mr. Fillmore said to give this ball away."
"I alwayth wanted a bathketball."
"Good for you, Barry."
"I'm gonna be like LeBron Jameth."
"Don't you want to be like Mike?"
"Jordan ith old thcool."
Everyone laughed.
Barry bounced the ball once, "Thorry, I forgot."

New Bathketball (Socks CCCLXXVII)

She picked up Bouncy and as soon as she stepped through the door she started dribbling him holding the twins in the other hand. She dribbled quite a ways before setting bouncy on a shelf next to a number of different size balls. A boy that came up to Pink shirt's shoulder was there.
"Ith that bathketball free?"
"Yes."
"Can I hab it?"
"Sure," She picked up Bouncy and handed him to the boy.
Lar noted that the boy's eyes were very round, and he had patches of hair missing, but his smile was huge. He kept jiggling and squirming.

Purchase (Socks CCCLXXVI)

Pink shirt put a piece of tape on Bouncy, wrote on it, and set him under the bench near Sunbeam.
She picked up Lar and Rar, carrying them out the door, and set them on a table in front of a woman, "Mr. Fillmore said I could have these for a dime."
"Cool, I think my husband would like these."
"If any more come in I'll let you know."
"Do that. Here's your receipt."
"Thanks. See you tomorrow."
"You out of here?"
"Five minutes."
Pink shirt walked slowly through the store, suddenly she stopped, then she hurried through the door.

Just Friends (Socks CCCLXXV)

Pink shirt asked again, but Fillmore had turned to go. Just as he reached the door, "Mr. Fillmore?"
"Yes."
She had picked up the twins, "How much for these?"
"One dime. For your father?"
"No, Kyle is coming over for Sunday dinner. I think he'll like them."
"Are you two an item?"
"No, just friends."
"That's a good place to start."
"Really, we're just friends."
"All I'm saying is, don't rule out anything else. He's a smart young man, he'll go far."
"I agree, but..."
"Just keep an open mind."
"Ok."
Fillmore turned to leave, "Say hello to your mother."

Gratis Globe (Socks CCCLXXIV)

"I guess there's no saving it. What about the basketball?"
"It's pretty worn, I didn't inflate it."
Fillmore picked up Basketball, "It is quite smooth, to worn to sell. Let's inflate it, maybe it holds air."
They did as Fillmore suggested.
"It looks like it holds air. Mark it free, and put it out."
"Ok."
"On second thought, wait until you see that kid with the teeth missing in the front, and set it out while he's in the store."
"OK?"
"You know who I mean?"
"Yea."
"He'll really appreciate it. He always does."
"He always does?"
Fillmore didn't answer.

Deflating (Socks CCCLXXIII)

Lar wondered, "Why didn't you tell us your name?"
"It's not my name. My name is Spaulding. When Spaulding showed up she started calling me Bouncy."
"Well it's a good fit, besides it would have been confusing having two of you."
"Two?"
Spalding chimed in, "Don't forget the tennis balls, Fuzzy and Furry."
Fillmore came into the room, and looked in the barrel, he picked up Spaulding, "This looks in pretty good shape."
"It is, except it won't hold air."
Pink shirt put a needle in Spaulding, and pumped. Spaulding swelled to official size, but was soon hissing and deflating.

Fantasy Football (Socks CCCLXXII)

"Isn't that a foul?"
"You were listening."
"Of course I was. She should have gotten a free throw."
"She would have made it too."
From the other end of the bench, "Cantu stays in the pocket, looking for an open receiver. Mones is outrunning the coverage, she's open. Cantu throws."
A deflated football sailed toward the barrel, bouncing off the edge.
Pink shirt picked up the ball, and held it out in front of herself, "The snap. Cantu looks downfield. Quarterback sneak." She trotted over, spiking the football in the barrel.
"Touchdown."
Basketball laughed, "Hey, Spaulding."
"Hey Bouncy. Together again."
